Our Story

ReadUp Youth is a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing literacy and education. Through our AI reading app, book donations, and fundraising events, we aim to make learning accessible to all. Nevada is currently ranked 47th in the nation for literacy rates, with our app we personalize reading material based on a student’s interests. We provide a personalized literacy plan that makes reading fun and engaging even with the most mundane topics.

At ReadUp Youth, we believe that education is the key to a brighter future. By providing resources and organizing activities that promote reading and learning, we strive to create a positive impact on individuals and communities. Join us in our efforts to empower through education.

ReadUp Youth is partnering with @doadoublegood to host a fundraising event! 🍿From today until Saturday, place an order for a popcorn set and show your support for underprivileged students: all proceeds go towards the purchase of books.

In honor of black history month, we want to highlight one of our favorite authors, Zetta Elliot. Elliot is a Black feminist writer of poetry, plays, essays, novels, and stories for children. Having written over thirty books, her work has received a Caldecott Honor, the 2017 Skipping Stones Honor Award, the Paterson Prize for Books for Young Readers, and more.

During February's Author's Corner, Elliot answered questions submitted by students about her written work and creative process. We are super excited to share Elliot’s answer through a podcast interview very soon!

ReadUp Youth is thrilled to announce our partnership with the @dragonkimfoundation! We are extremely grateful to have this opportunity to receive mentorship and a grant of up to $5000 to further our mission of providing books to underprivileged children.

ReadUp Youth packed over 300 bookmarks and origami hearts made with the help of our volunteers and paired them with our acquired books for our book bags! These will be provided to elementary and middle school children to encourage literacy and education.

Our founders, Celine and Ro, spent time buying over 400 books on Monday! We can't wait to share them with more kids very soon!

Congratulations to all of our speech and debate program participants for their excellent speeches! Over winter break, our founders, Celine and Ro, had the thrill of coaching students in extemporaneous speaking, SPAR, and impromptu. We even had two scholarship students who attended for free! Students gained speaking, reading, researching, and anylatic skills. At the end of our camp, we hosted a mock tournament. Congratulations to our winner, Pranaav! We cannot wait to see these kids continue to thrive in public speaking in the future.

Our CEO, Celine, and two of our directors, Candace and Mimi, were thrilled to buy over 200 books for kids this past week. We can't wait to pack them up into book bags to donate to kids across the Valley!

Our founders, Celine and Rohitha, were honored with Congressional recognition for their work on an app to help encourage students to read. They were thrilled to speak with @repsusielee about ReadUp Youth’s mission and work. Thank you @congressionalappchallenge for providing us with this amazing opportunity.

Calling all aspiring SND champions! ReadUpYouth is hosting a Winter Speech and Debate Camp Fundraiser, with all proceeds going towards book donations for organizations such as After-School-All-Stars. No prior experience is required to attend. Fill out the interest form in our bio ASAP to reserve a spot!
